One of our favorite brasseries in Bordeaux is Les Noailles. Traditional French Brasserie and for the wine industry it is like people watching at Spago in L.A. Tonight we briefly visited with old friends Paul Pontallier of Chateau Margaux, David Launay of Gruaud Larose and David Milligan a long term negociant in the Bordeuaux market place. The white asparagus from Blaye is in season and is must have this time of year. The staple entree: Duck Confit and Pomme Frites. Accompanying our meal this evening Chateau Corbin 2006 St. Emilion Grand Cru Classe and La Coix de Carbonnieux Blanc 2009. We also sampled Osoyoos Larose 2001 a red Bordeaux Blend from British Columbia that is part of the Gruaud Larose wines.
