2010 Macrostie Sonoma Coast Chardonnay!!

 

The 2010 was a cooler vintage, which lead to longer hang time. That resulted in rounder fruit with richer flavors. All grapes were hand picked and pressed as whole cluster in order to maximize quality. After settling most of the juice was racked into French and Hungarian oak barrels for fermentation, 20% of which was new. A portion of the wine was also done in stainless steel  with lees aging to increase richness and body.

Pale straw gold in color, with bright floral and citrus aromas, like lemon custard. On the Palate it is rich and creamy, with crisp apple and ripe pear flavors, spiced up with just a touch of toasty oak. The finish is smooth as satin, but lingers on.
