Chateau de Lescours is one of the oldest and most renowned properties in the Saint-Emilion district. Built in 1341 by a knight of King Edward I, this 55-acre Grand Cru is owned today by the Chariol Family. Owner and vigneron Pierre Chariol manages the property himself. He and his family still live in this historic Chateau.
The blend of this wine is typical to the Saint-Emilion terroir. 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc & 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Though the Cabernet Sauvignon is a small percentage of the overall wine, it is sourced from vines that are up to 100 years old that are situated directly behind the Chateau.
Our Notes:
Dark red opal center, Bright ruby rim.
On the nose hints of tobacco, ripe dark cherry, vanilla & floral white flowers, a touch of lead pencil and cinnamon. On the palate velvety texture carries the ripe cherries and hints of mocha though a lengthy finish of fine tannins.
This wine is a great accompaniment to red meat, game, poultry and soft cheeses.
