2004 Chateau D’Arche Haut- Medoc
Great for corporate gift giving!!
Chateau D’Arche is grown close to the soil of the classified Grand Crus. The estate of Chateau D’Arche includes 9 hectares of old vines and a beautiful country house. Chateau D’Arche was increased to the rank of Cru Bourgeois Superieur in 2003. Mahler Besse is a world renowned wine importer of the state of Bordeaux. He ensures the production and marketing and quality for Chateau D’Arche as well as many other estates like Chateau Palmer & Chateau Haut Brion. Chateau D’Arche is composed of 45 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 40 % Merlot, 15 % Petit Verdot & Carmenere.
The average age of the vines is 35 years. Chateau D’Arche pulls its distinguishing flavors from the gravelly soil. Out of concern for tradition and respect for the soil, the vines must not be chemically weeded but only ploughed. It has a dark ruby/purple color as well as floral, raspberry, cherry, and blueberry aromas interwoven with notions of licorice and toasty oak. Beautiful ripeness, medium body, and a delicate integration of tannin and wood are classic traits of the Haut-Medoc.
