2009 Francis Tannahill The Hermit Pinot Noir $44.99
The 2009 Francis Tannahill Hermit Pinot Noir possesses a dark red garnet color from rim to center. On the nose the initial aromatic of Indian spices, blueberries, game, raspberries, leather and dark cherries point to a more old world styled wine. Wild blue plums, minerals, violets, tobacco and earth all swirl from the glass as it opens. The attack is soft with ripe tannis, but as the wine moves across the palate it tightens up and the structure becomes more apparent. Flavors of iron, dusty blue fruits, graphite and spice all make an appearance. The wine continues into the finish with elegance and a bit of austerity that highlights Oregen Pinot Noir’s inherent transparency and poise.
